Czech National Fiscal Council Joins the Network

The Network now has members from all but two EU member states.

The Czech independent fiscal council was created to contribute to the sustainability of public finances in the Czech Republic, and to prevent the risk of excessive debt accumulation.

The main elements of its mandate are the following:

• The evaluation of the fulfilment of numerical fiscal rules
• Monitor the evolution of public debt and public finances generally
• Produce reports about the long-term sustainability of public finances and present these to the parliament
